VERACRUZ AMETHYST #2
Listing is for ONE Veracruz Amethyst crystal cluster on matrix from the Las Vigas Mine, Veracruz, Mexico. You will receive the exact item from the photographs.
Veracruz Amethyst is among the most collectible of all amethyst crystals and has only one locality in the tiny village of Piedra Parada in Mexico's Veracruz-Llave state. Most amethyst occurs as geode linings or stubby type crystals, but not Veracruz! Veracruz has superb elongated amethyst crystal formation. The crystals are transparent with heavier coloration near the terminations. Color intensities vary from a pale lilac to lavender, to a violet and royal purple. Veracruz Amethyst typically rises from a tiny base of colorless quartz crystals in a cluster type formation, but can also form with a variety of other characteristics such as phantoms, floater clusters of intergrown crystals, single and double terminated points, and even contain small inclusions of orange-brown hematite. In even rarer occasions, as an enhydro - a crystal that contains at least one bubble of water that got trapped inside the crystal as it was growing. Veracruz Amethyst crystals are typically around 1-2 inches long, but occasionally reach the over 3 inch mark. Although Veracruz Amethyst is considered a gem, it is never used for gem purposes but only as specimens because of its rarity.
