The mining process of removing the agate sheets that contain the “grapes” is a delicate process, during which many individual “grapes” and chunks with “grapes” break off. Color can range from off-white to gray, light lilac to deep purple, and even green colored which is very rare. Most grape agate will have a velvety sheen that comes from microscopic quartz crystal (druzy) growing on the “grapes.” Grape Agate is said to be a crystal of dreams.
